Balaclava, St. Elizabeth, January 3, 2012 - The 15th staging of the Cotton Tree Toys for Kids (CTTFK) Christmas treat and toys-give away dubbed “15…A dream for our children” was held on Monday December 26th in Balaclava, St. Elizabeth on the grounds of the Balaclava Community Center. The day was a tremendous success. The treat which was officially declared opened by President & Founder of CTTFK, Venroy Nairne, began with prayer by Minister Winston Daley from the United Pentecostal Church in Kingston.
Linkz96 FM out of the westernmost parish of Jamaica (Westmoreland) provided live outside broadcast hosted by Carla Morris with technical Operator Patrick “pumpy” Williams. The thrill and excitement for the children’s entertainment package came from the “IT’S A PARTY TEAM” included bounce a bout, ferris wheel and the high striker. The children were treated to snow cones and popcorn also by the team.
This year saw the inclusion of a football competition where teams competed for trophies. The competition was won by the team that journeyed from St. Thomas, Central York United; with the local team Balaclava placing second. While the footballers vied to be on top, several activities geared at entertaining the younger children were in full swing including hoola hoop competition, needle and thread as well as dancing competitions for various age groups. The children also spoke about their schools, career goals with child-like enthusiasm.
Christmas gifts were then distributed to over a thousand children from Balaclava, surrounding communities and visiting parishes.Read more
3RD STAGING OF TOY DRIVE DONATION THE BEST EVER
Bronx, New York - December 14, 2011 - The third staging of Cotton Tree Toys For Kids, Inc. Toy Indoor-Bar-B-Q held on Saturday, November 19th in the centrally located Sunset Hall, 106 West 1st Street in Mount Vernon, New York saw patrons filing in from across the Tristate area to music provided by the multi-talented DJ Mr. Lee, marketing representative for Cotton Tree Toys For Kids, Inc. along side DJ Linkage of Linkage Radio.
The President and Founder Venroy Nairne, with his dynamic team synchronized leading radio stations, business owners, churches and the public in an effort to garner toys and educational materials for children in Jamaica. The response was overwhelming.
The day-long event kicked off with games and activities for children and adults randomly chosen from the audience who participated in egg and spoon, needle and thread, two-legged race, among others...
The Organization outwitted their counterparts with surprise Certificates of Appreciation to well known artistes, disc jockeys, radio stations, restaurateurs and individuals in recognition of their contribution to the organization. Ranking Joe, Disco Kid of WVIP 93.5 FM, Jenniffer Douglas, Andrea Davis of Cooyah Restaurant were on hand to receive their certificates. Read more

BRONX, NEW YORK, May 3, 2010 – Cotton Tree Toys For Kids, Inc. held the official launch on May 1 under the theme ‘Help make a difference in a child’s life’ to an enthusiastic audience at the Primrose Cricket Club, Bronx, New York.
Founder and President, Venroy Nairne in his introductory speech commented on the organizations fourteen-year milestone through the support of sponsors, interest groups and business professionals who have given their time and resources to the annual Christmas treat and toy give away in Union, Balaclava, St. Elizabeth.
The dynamic Sonji Anderson with her intellect and sharp sense of humour moderated the evening’s event with precise intention. The evening’s speakers included a range of professionals and from the clergy. The speakers included Keynote Speaker, Tracey Blackwood, Deputy Consul, Consulate General of Jamaica, Donald Vernon, attorney-at-law, Vernon & Associates, June O’Connor, Founder of The Garvey School and Bishop Simon White, Minister of Joy Fellowship Christian Assemblies, Inc.
Endorsements were brought by Garfield Comrie, Caribbean Marketing Consultant, Western Union Money Transfer, Anthony Whitehead, Assistant Manager, Benjamin Moore Pain Store and Dexter Blake, CEO, Linkage Radio 101.5 FM.
